A brighter smile creates a good impression on others and positively affects your self-esteem. At the Beverly Hills Dental Center, Dr. Eshaghian provides teeth whitening treatments that bring his patients happiness and confidence.
Teeth whitening performed in-office can dramatically transform the appearance of your smile. It’s normal for everyone to experience yellowing and staining over time. Teeth whitening is provided to reverse this effect and to illuminate the shade of your teeth. We provide comprehensive in-office treatments and convenient at-home treatments for our patients.
What causes teeth to become stained?
It’s common knowledge that drinking coffee, wine, and dark liquids stain your teeth. Other common contributors include: use of tobacco, ageing, medication, and injury. What occurs in some cases is that surface enamel is being stained by pigments and stripped away by regular wear and acid. In other cases, darker, yellower tissues of the tooth called dentin are making their way to the surface of the tooth. Successful teeth whitening requires the dentist to properly understand your tooth anatomy and hygienic habits.
There are a number of techniques available to whiten your teeth. Some include bleaching, teeth whitening gels, whitening toothpastes, at-home whitening kits, etc. We work with the ZOOM teeth whitening system at our office. This procedure produces more effective results than over-the-counter treatments by eliminating years of staining and aging on the teeth. ZOOM technology utilizes a special whitening gel that is applied to the surface of your teeth. This gel is activated by a source of special light and begins to reduce visible signs of stains and discoloration. The procedure takes only one hour and results can be seen instantly. We’ve had excellent results using the ZOOM whitening system and recommend it for it’s cost-effectiveness, convenience, and sustainability of use.
After the procedure, you will be provided with take-home ZOOM teeth whitening trays. These can be applied regularly to maintain your white smile. Additional dental visits are recommended if you have concerns about the results or maintenance. Teeth whitening treatments are meant to be long-lasting. Proper hygiene and refraining from common tooth-staining activities will ensure that your smile will remain white for as long as possible. It’s normal for patients to require teeth whitening after a period of time. Dr. Eshagian will explain when it is healthy to schedule another teeth whitening appointment.
