Dental Implants Beverly Hills

Whether it is through aging, disease, or accident, teeth can become compromised or lost entirely. There are quite a few implications of losing a tooth. An obvious one being the person’s self-esteem may be damaged. Another being the functionality of the person’s teeth in general. Losing a tooth means that other teeth must work harder to compensate for the missing one. This can increase stress and wear on neighboring teeth. There are a few options patients have when it comes to restoring missing teeth. Dental implants are an effective and permanent solution.

What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a post that is attached to a patient’s jaw bone. It integrates into the jaw in the same way that your natural teeth do. Because of the design of this implant, patients require sufficient bone mass and healthy gums for the treatment to be successful. Patients who do not meet these requirements may be recommended dentures or partials instead of dental implants.

This treatment is different from dentures because the implants integrate with your mouth and emulate the appearance of your natural teeth.  Dental implants improve your teeth’s functions and restore their appearance. Dr. Roger Eshaghian is one of the most experienced dental implant specialists in Beverly Hills.

Dental implants provide a range of benefits that restore all facets of your smile.  Their advantages consist of the following:

  • Permanently replace missing teeth
  • Improve biting, chewing, and speech
  • Improve the teeth’s appearance
  • Secures teeth in place
  • Maintain regular dental hygiene
  • Prevents bone loss and promotes oral health

Procedure

During your first appointment, Dr. Eshagian will perform an examination to determine whether or not you are a good candidate for dental implants. Once you have been approved, he will move forward with prepping you for the surgery. This may involve the use of sedatives or anesthetics. Next, a titanium rod will be placed under the gum and into the jawbone. This will complete the first surgery.

Over the next few weeks, the surrounding tissue will grow around the rod and fuse with it. The next surgery will involve placing an abutment for the crown to attach to. For the final restoration, a customized porcelain crown will be fabricated and placed on the abutment of the dental implant.  The crown is designed to be naturally appealing and identical to your other teeth.  They provide the finishing touch to your dental implant restoration.
